Take Me Out to the Ballgame

I saw something today that I have never seen in all my 21 years. As I was walking to the baseball field this afternoon I noticed that the sky was spitting snow, on March 24. I’ve seen a lot of crazy things at baseball games, but never snow in Southern Illinois in late March.
Needless to say, it was freezing. However, the game went on. Herrin scored 3 quick runs in the bottom half of the first inning and appeared to take control over Carterville. The Lions’ hit a homerun and cut the lead to 2 runs before Herrin added a solo shot of their own.
Heading into the top half of the 7th inning Carterville was trailing 4-1. They got down to their last out and got a walk. Then some hits and a few more walks. With two outs freshman Brad Drust came to the plate with the tying run on third base. After fouling a few off he struck out swinging. The game barely last a hour and a half.
