A memorial service was held yesterday in honor of Doris “Granny D” Haddock. Haddock, who was best known for her political activism, died last Tuesday at the age of 100.
At the age of 89 Haddock walked across the United States in support of campaign finance reform. In 2004 Haddock, a democrat, challenged Judd Gregg for the US Senate race. She was defeated, but managed to get 34 percent of the vote.
“Granny D” will be missed by all those she touched along her long journey in life.
